May I let my voice be a clarion call. I will use these words for justice. I will use these words for truth. And humour.

Street Retreat Tomorrow

I've been invited by a minister friend of mine to go on another street retreat in downtown SF, only this time, I will be trailing others (teens, I guess) to make sure that they're safe. Last time for me, it was devastating, as you can read about here (part one) and here (part two).

This time, I am hoping that observing somebody and looking out for their welfare will help me to unravel my own previous experience. Maybe that's just wishful thinking...

lyrics: Mister Powder Blue Bread Box, you're no cowardly flower. Your rotten little wishes offend my dirty dishes. - Lullaby Baxter Trio

colors: Grey, Blood Red

mood: Eesh... Just got done watching the L. Ron Hubbard penned movie Battlefield Earth, starring John Travolta, Barry Pepper, and Forest Whitaker. People had told me it was really bad, but I just couldn't believe them. Chalk this up as another McRib experience I guess.

chant/prayer/mantra: What holds us separate? What keeps us separated? As we walk the streets, what still connects us?

pax hominibus,
joel
